Harlequin Paints has just become the
First Carbon neutral paint factory
in South Africa.

We were recently assessed on our carbon emissions by an independent company on behalf of the DTI (dept. of trade and industry)and the DEAT ( dept. of environmental affairs and tourism).

Following the report we made a few changes and with the help of food and trees for Africa are off setting our small balance by planting trees in underprivileged parts of South Africa.

We are very proud of this achievement and it re enforces our company ethos that Harlequin paints
are truly environmentally friendly.

  • We take into account all aspects of our business when considering the environment.
  • We recycle all our paper and plastic.
  • We only buy recycled products for our stationary and packaging where possible.
  • Any stock that cannot be sold is always passed on to charities.

With GREEN being the new buzzword it is very important customers understand what is actually green and what is not. Please have a look at out new technical section on our website for detailed explanation.

In the new year we will have a permanent stand at the building center in Belmont road Rondebosch in their Eco-Exhibit. This will help all of you who need information but find traveling to Paarden Eiland a bit too far.

Lastly do not forget it is paint season and now is the ideal time to touch up those garden sheds, outdoor wooden furniture and fences. Our Exterior Varnish is ideal for this and with its UV protection it’s a job that will only need to be done again in 3 or 4 years time. See our website for available colours.

Happy Holidays from everyone at Harlequin Paints.
